Elevating Fargo Homes, Empowering Future Leaders.

At Odyssey Exteriors, we deliver more than full-service painting and power washing—we provide a training ground for the next generation. Our crew is comprised of driven young adults mentored through a rigorous leadership development program. By combining professional construction standards with a solutions-oriented mindset, we ensure your home project is handled by a team that values character and precision as much as you do.

Our Team

John Gores

I’m a Division I football player at North Dakota State University and a finance student with a great interest in business operations and growth. Competing at a high level has taught me discipline, resilience, and how to lead in fast-paced environments. I have also worked for Home Escapes a residential contractor in the Fargo area.

This summer, I’m co-leading Odyssey Exteriors alongside teammates and a proven mentor, focusing on delivering high-quality painting and exterior services. I take pride in running efficient operations and ensuring every project meets a high standard. We’re committed to building a reputation for reliability, professionalism, and results.

Hudson Artz

I’m a Division I football player at North Dakota State University pursuing my graduate degree, where I’ve built a strong foundation in discipline, teamwork, and accountability. This summer, I’m partnering with a teammate and an experienced mentor to run Odyssey Exteriors, focusing on high-quality painting and exterior services.

We handle day-to-day operations with energy and attention to detail, backed by proven systems and leadership. Our goal is simple—deliver reliable, high-quality work that homeowners can trust.

Aaron Filzen

Before re-establishing Odyssey Exteriors, I spent four years successfully managing close to 100 residential painting projects throughout Rochester MN while earning my Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management. My background combines technical precision with a commitment to high-quality results.

For the past six years, my family and I have had the privilege of serving the NDSU community as missionaries at St. Paul’s Newman Center. This role has been a calling for me—mentoring hundreds of students to help them reach their full potential. I bring that same dedication to mentorship and excellence to every project I take on.

The odyssey story

It began back in 2016 on a cold March morning in Rochester, MN, when Aaron called a few men who were driven to pursue excellence. In this meeting, Aaron and his team began mapping out the beginnings of Odyssey Exteriors, which was also the street where Aaron grew up and the location of that first meeting.

He and a small group of friends embarked on the task of breaking into the residential painting industry while pursuing degrees in Construction Management at Minnesota State University, Mankato. Aided by the guidance of a friend—a law professor and lawyer—they received the encouragement and help needed to get the idea off the ground. Through many long days and by learning from other industry professionals, Odyssey grew. Every summer during university, the team at Odyssey would regroup to take on projects with a simple goal: make homes beautiful, make homeowners happy, and give those dedicated to this task at Odyssey the leadership training they need to become world changers.

For the last six years, Aaron has dedicated his professional career to leadership development and mentorship within the NDSU community. While serving as a missionary at St. Paul’s Newman Center, he focused on helping students realize their full potential and lead lives of character. Today, Odyssey re-emerges in a new time and a new city with the same mission: make homes beautiful, make homeowners happy, and give the team at Odyssey the leadership training they need to become world changers.
